I didn’t have to wait to go to Mackinac Island in February to see snow – the white stuff fell last night right here in Arkansas! Not a lot – but enough to make me a happy camper!
Ted and I left the lake at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. Yes, you read that right – 3:30! Ted loaded luggage, dog beds, dogs, and me into the car, set BOTH GPS systems again, and off we went. I immediately went to sleep and woke up as the sun was coming up. We traveled through four states and reached Julie and Matt’s at 4:00 p.m. Arkansas time (1 hour behind Georgia).
When we made the final turn north (Bentonville is in the northwestern corner of the state), we rode for an hour through mountains that had been covered with snow last week. Most of it had melted, but in some areas that did not get a lot of sun, it was still evident.
After dinner, we opened gifts.
We went to bed Tuesday night with snow forecast overnight. When we awoke this morning, there was about an inch on the ground, which had melted by noon.
