Done! 1/25/2013

How long has it been since Ted and I started our little “renovation” project at the lake house?  Let me count the days . . . weeks . . . months . . . years.

Anyway, it’s finally over and done, and if Ted even dares to start a sentence with, “Why don’t we . . . .?”, I will not responsible for what happens!

The final leg of our redo journey began two days after I returned from Colorado.  Yep – two weeks of travel, and instead of a few days of down time, Ted woke me up on Monday morning with, “Let’s get hopping! All the stuff has to be taken off the furniture, and all the furniture has to be moved before they get here tomorrow to do the floors!”

Well, all righty then!

The great room - middle of the week. After removing part of the carpet, we got down to what was there when we orginally bought the house. No - those are not parquet floors - not by a long shot.

. . . and after putting down an area rug.

. . . and after putting down an area rug.  We spent two nights with just bare floors and decided it wasn’t for us.  Bear and Maddie hardily agreed!

We replaced flooring in one of the guest bathrooms.

Moved furniture had to go somewhere . . .

. . . and the two guest bedrooms caught most of it.

So did the dining room. We removed the carpet in there also.

All done - thank goodness the potty is out of the bathtub and back in its proper place!

Finished dining room.

. . . . and finished kitchen.

. . . . and finished kitchen.  Actually, the kitchen was finished in the spring, but now the two rooms look like they belong together.

Working on a home project for two years really stretched it out, but hey – we did it as we could.  We sure do like the way it all turned out!

We’re heading for Florida on Sunday to watch our Matthew play basketball on Monday night.  We’ll be back Tuesday!  God bless.
